Degree Program

KIST School offers full degree program that provides students with valuable R&D experience and is equipped with
state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge equipment that provide further learning opportunities for students. And students at
KIST School are given opportunities to participate in actual R&D projects, receive firsthand experience at real industrial sites,
and undergo research-oriented education and training within their respective disciplines.
Semester & Period
Spring Semester begins in March, and application period starts on September of the previous year
Fall Semester begin September, and application period starts on March.
Admission Category
General Admission Selection of students under the fixed quota system (not eligible for special admission)
Special Admission Foreigners
1. A foreign national whose parents are both foreign nationals
2. A foreign national who has completed the entire elementary, junior high, high school and undergraduate education outside of Korea
Entrusted Students Military entrusted students recommended by the Minister of National Defense or government agency employees recommended by a related minister
Koreans Living Overseas Korean nationals who have completed their entire elementary, junior high, high school and undergraduate education outside of Korea
North Korea defectors North Korean defectors with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in North Korea or abroad acknowledged pursuant to relevant laws

Those who have a Master’s degree or are expected to receive a Master’s degree before the semester starts

Those who have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or are expected to receive a Bachelor’s degree before the semester starts

* TOEFL PBT score submission, the final acquisition score is calculated by adding each  score received in  the three areas of reading, listening and writing(full mark of 30 points given for each area) in line with  the revised test scoring system (Oct. 2017)
* In the case of applicants with severe hearing impairment as outlined in the Enforcement Rule of the Act on Welfare of Persons with Disabilities [Appendix 1], the score criteria for applicants with a hearing disability shall be applied. In this case, applicants are required  to submit a certificate of  disability

UST graduates and prospective graduates
Applicants who studied for at least one year and have received or are expected to receive a degree from a university or graduate school in the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, or South Africa
*Applicants who is expected to graduate, it will be canceled if he/she can’t acquire the degree by the day before the scheduled date of admission
